Penguin is a very unique bearded dragon. He was already 5 months old when we got him. However, he was smaller than a tooth pick.

Penguin was purchased by a family with two other baby bearded dragons at the age of three months. After a short time, one of the babies began to grow. He grew much faster than the other two. This caused a big problem because, all three babies lived together.

One day the largest dragon bit the tail off of Penguin. This caused severe nerve damage in his back legs. Because of this, Penguin cannot walk with his back legs. We received him around this time in his story.

When we got him, his tail was necrotic. We took him to the vet to have it removed. However, when we got there, we realized that he will never be able to use his back legs again. We considered his quality of life with our vet. Then, we decided to give Penguin a chance to see how he does.

Within a day, Penguin perked up. He was able to still walk around, using his front legs. He basks, chases dubia, and acts like any other dragon. We knew we had to let Penguin live his life, as best as we could!

Today, Penguin is with us, starting to grow and gain weight. He is now bigger than the toothpick! We are looking forward to what amazing things happen with Penguin in the future.
